DC Block Storage
DBSVirtual Disks
DC Block Storage carves virtual disks from the cluster’s distributed storage layer. Every write is stored as multiple synchronous replicas on different nodes, so disks survive drive and node failures. Disks are thin-provisioned, expandable online without stopping the VM, and available in standard (hybrid) and performance (all-flash) tiers.
Key Features
2 or 3 synchronous replicas across cluster nodes
Thin provisioning — physical capacity consumed only as data is written
10 GB to 32 TB per disk, up to 15 data disks per VM
Online expansion with zero downtime
High Performance, Performance Sensitive, and Capacity Sensitive tiers — each with optional HA replication
