Introduction to DAAKYI Cloud
What the platform is, what you can do on it, and how it is built.
DAAKYI Cloud is an enterprise cloud platform built on a hyperconverged infrastructure foundation and managed through a single self-service console. You provision virtual machines, storage, and private networks in minutes; protect workloads with snapshots, backup, continuous data protection, and cross-site disaster recovery; and migrate existing VMware or physical workloads with near-zero downtime.
What You Can Do on the Platform
- Run virtual machines — Windows and Linux, GPU-ready, with live migration and high availability
- Scale storage on demand — block, file, and object storage that grows with your workloads
- Build private networks — VPCs, virtual routers, load balancing, VPN, and elastic IPs
- Secure every workload — distributed firewall, web application firewall, and micro-segmentation
- Protect and recover data — snapshots, scheduled backup, continuous data protection, and cross-site DR
- Migrate without downtime — move VMware or physical workloads with incremental sync and short cutover windows
- Manage everything from one console — self-service provisioning, multi-tenant isolation, metering & billing, and open REST APIs
How the Platform Is Built
The platform runs on clusters of standard x86 servers. Compute virtualization, distributed storage, and network virtualization are converged in software across every node — there are no dedicated SAN arrays or hardware appliances to manage. Capacity scales horizontally: adding nodes adds compute, storage, and network throughput at the same time.
| Layer | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cloud Management | Self-service console, multi-tenant virtual data centers, quotas, approvals, metering & billing, open APIs |
| Compute Virtualization | Virtual machines with live migration, high availability, resource scheduling, GPU support |
| Distributed Storage | Replicated block storage for VM disks, plus file (NFS/SMB) and object (S3-compatible) services |
| Network Virtualization | VPCs, distributed virtual routers, security groups, distributed firewall, load balancers, VPN |
| Data Protection | Snapshots, scheduled backup, continuous data protection (CDP), cross-site replication |
Regions, Sites and Availability
DAAKYI Cloud runs in two deployment forms. Shared cloud regions are multi-tenant infrastructure operated by DAAKYI — our flagship region:
| Region | Location | Status |
|---|---|---|
| accra-1 | Accra, Ghana — West Africa | Available |
Dedicated Cloud sites are physically dedicated deployments of the same platform, stood up for a single organization in a DAAKYI facility or on the customer’s premises, in the jurisdiction the customer requires. Dedicated sites have full console and API parity with shared regions and are scoped per engagement.
The platform is architected for multi-region operation; additional shared regions are listed here when deployed or formally committed. Backup and disaster recovery targets are defined per service design.
Everything you can do in the Console can also be done through the REST API. See the API Reference section for authentication and endpoint details.
