The Data Layer

Database VMs in an HA cluster protected by Continuous Data Protection provide the system of record, with scheduled backups and journal-based point-in-time recovery. Patient documents and imaging are stored in DC Object Storage with lifecycle policies that move older records to lower-cost tiers, and lightweight worker VMs process real-time events such as patient alerts and admission workflows.

Security and Access

  • All patient data encrypted at rest with customer-managed keys in DC KMS
  • Clinician access controlled through DC IAM roles with mandatory MFA
  • Every record access written to DC Audit Trails for review
  • Network segmentation between clinical, administrative, and public workloads
