Managing Backups
Protecting your workloads with the backup capability in your tenant.
Where backup is part of your service, your workloads are protected by backup policies — schedules that capture recovery points for your virtual machines.
In the Backup area you can typically
- See which VMs are protected and by which policy
- View available recovery points for each protected VM
- Trigger an on-demand backup before major changes where enabled
- Initiate restores where enabled — or request a restore through support
Restores
Depending on your service configuration, restores may be self-service or performed by DAAKYI on request. When requesting a restore through support, include the VM name, the recovery point date/time you need, and whether you want an in-place restore or a copy.
Backup scope, retention and any disaster-recovery arrangements are defined in your service agreement. If a critical workload is not listed as protected, raise it with support promptly.
